"My experience began in October 2008 when I moved to London to begin work after graduating from university. The gap between my upper teeth was something I had wanted to correct for some time and suddenly I felt in a position to do something about it. The first thing I learned about cosmetic dentistry was porcelain veneers from a TV make-over program. I had reservations about the procedure which required me to sacrifice my natural teeth to make way for an artificial covering. I felt my teeth were too good for this given that all I wanted to do was change their position.
Many practitioners offer free consultations and I took advantage of this to get several opinions. Invisalign was recommended to me across the board as a method which could close my gap in a non-invasive way, shaving only a fraction of a millimetre of enamel from a few teeth. I was sold on the concept early on but I took my time to decide where to get the work done.
When I met Raj for the first time he did the small but vital thing of listening to me and writing down what I had to say. He did not suggest ways of doing the job quickly at a lower cost and I viewed this as the mark of a professional who does not compromise the standard of his work. He took pictures on a digital camera and used them to explain his diagnosis and also spotted instantly that I had been brushing too hard by the condition of my gums. In my own profession of architecture, an eye for detail is very important and in the end I opted for Forma because Raj made a better study of my teeth than the other people I visited and was the best communicator.
With Invisalign the movements to each tooth are forecast at the start, but do not always follow the planned course. Raj made the difference here because he monitored my teeth during the process and made adjustments as necessary. He even extended the treatment at no extra cost to get the smaller teeth with less purchase into the right position – a real perfectionist. I found I could take any query to him with ease and he took no time in responding to texts or emails. However the finished result is the biggest commendation I can give Raj because now other people complement me for my teeth and they make me feel much more confident and attractive.
