Fireman's Fund Insurance Company was began in 1863, in Sanfransisco. This was first started in Novato, which was previously owned by Allianz AG of Germany. It's name was derived from an early business arrangement to pay 10% profits to widows and orphans of the firefighters who lost their lives in saving the lives of the people.
